We have been researching the Kelley family line through George Thomas "red" Kelley and his father Earl Lavern Kelley, married to Martha Syre. "Red" being the only child we know of. Our research is not extensive, but fun and interesting all the same.

The story of the Kelley family farm as told to us begins Chief Okemos used to travel accross the farm to reach Chicago and various other destinations. Earl Lavern Kelley owned the farm at this time. This was a friendly arrangement between the two men. This has made the farm a part of history. Local school children have been known to put on plays about the Kelley family farm.

Our research is an on going process, and one we love to share with family and friends.
