| About Our Family Research |
|
John Frederick Ricker (1781 - 1835) was the son of John George Riker of Hoslinwart and Anna Maria Truslen, as recorded in the Waiblinger Registry office, Werttembug, Germany. John Frederick Ricker married Anna Maria Ezzlan (1781-1828). After she passed away at age 47, and was buried in Germany, he and his five sons and one daughter left Germany, arrived in Buffalo some time between 1828-1834 and settled in Canboro, near Dunnville in southern Ontario. The Russo-Turkish Wars of 1828-29 concluded in the Treaty of Adrianople, and the Rickers sought a peaceful new start. Through the years of Ricker history, we can see the family's vision, hard work ethic, stubborn and persistent traits. We have a long line of love, and the family has for the most part passed Christian belief's to their children.
