I'm very new to Family Search. I do know that my family on my mother's side were publicans. They kept the Judge Walmsley in Whalley, the Bull's Head in Blackburn, the Park Hotel in Darwen, the Doctor Syntax in Preston and I believe the Angel Inn in either Croston or Burnley.

Most of my family came from Lancashire. My Mother's name was Alfreda Mayor (b.1915. d.1996) and she had a twin brother Alfred who died as a Japanese POW building the Death Railway. My mother had other siblings named Ellen, Elizabeth, Mark, George, Richard, Florence, Louise,and Alice.

My father's name is George Nelson (b.1912) He had 4 sisters Hilda, Mabel, Bertha and Ada. I believe his mother came from Hayfield in Derbyshire. Her name was Hannah Elizabeth Dobbs and his Father was John Henry Nelson.
