My name is Elizabeth Diane (Nelson) Kelly, and I was born in Preston, Lancashire, England. Most of my ancestors were from small villages in Lancashire, mainly Great Harwood, and Croston. With help from the Internet I have been able to trace the Birtwistle line back to the year 1150, and the Mayor's back to the 1700's.

My Mother's name was Alfreda Mayor (b.1915. d.1996) and she had a twin brother Alfred who died as a Japanese POW building the Death Railway. My mother had other siblings named Ellen, Elizabeth, Mark, George, Richard, Florence, Louise,and Alice.

My father's name is George Nelson (b.1912) He had 4 sisters Hilda, Mabel, Bertha and Ada. Dad's family came from Preston with some connections to Poulton, Garstang, and other small villages in that area.
