I, Gerard William Kellen, born August 30, 1932, living near Ottawa, Canada, am the son of Dr. rer.pol. Martin Josef Kellen, born March 13, 1905, died October 1965, and his wife Johanna Maria Franziska née Sauvageot from Köln, Germany. Martin was the youngest son of Gottfried Kellen and Anna Hillen, on a family farm in the Niederrhein region of Germany, near the Dutch border).
The description and analysis of a family coat of arms says that we come from Brabant (Belgium/The Netherlands) and that the family name was "van de Kelen" in Belgium and "van der Kellen" in The Netherlands.
Having immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1960, I only recently (summer of 2004) discovered that there were many families in North America with the name Kellen.
I am anxious to know them or about them.
