I am an only child, born and raised in Minnesota, with German maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents of Norwegian/English/French descent. I have 21 cousins (one deceased) living in the U.S. My maternal grandfather came to this country from Germany in the late 1800s at the age of 12. His wife was born in America, as were my paternal grandparents.
