KELLY The Kelly family is centered around Tibooburra NSW, where i grew up. I can find no information before my dads grandfather William Kelly whom married Esther Godier in 1909 in Tibooburra, my nan reckons he had a brother Timothy and they were born in Menoora Sth Australia. She says William left his family because he was being forced into the church!!!
LEMON The Lemon family begins with a William also. A CONVICT, bought to Australia from Ireland in 1820 for forging papers onboard the 'Southworth'. He did his time and in 1835 settled in Campbelltown married Ann Driscoll and lived happily ever after. Seems fraternal twins run in this family right back to this marraige, my nan had a set of fraternal twins, who knows i might be next!!!!
LACKERSTEEN Got lots of info on the Lackersteens The first is Anthony Lackersteen b. 1776 married Helaria Charlotte Pinto. However, the family tree i have spells my nans name wrong and has brothers for my mum who don't exist so perhaps it isn't very acurate!
GODIER/CROUCH Don't have much info on this side of the family they too are centered in Tibooburra NSW Australia. The Godier boys all fought in the first world war and it is believed they died near Greece at Lemnos Island. My grandfather and his brothers went on to fight in the second world war and for this i am proud to have their name.
OLIVIERI My grandfather Peter Olivieri came to Australia in the early 1960's from Italy, he passed away some years ago and we don't know much about his family. I am told he was born on a farm outside Tuscany Italy, mum says he came here when he was older (mid 30's) she reckons thats why he never could speak English very well. Mum says he was a baker? Or had a cooking trade, i know that he spent some time in Bonegilla migrant camp near Melbourne. He isn't my mum's blood father, but he was her dad, and we all called him TICKI, he was a great man whom i respected and miss today.
WILSON, my mothers blood father James 'Jimmy' Wilson, mum met him when she was 16 but remembers little. His mother was a Rose, sister Margaret. He had an alcohol problem. My mum wants to know if he is alive, but with such a ordinary name it is almost impossible.
Thank you for your time if you want info - theres lots that not here e-mail dariank@iprimus.com.au
