My ancestors include: John G. Hutchinson, son of George Hutchinson and Sarah Sophia Olmstead; John G married Ellen Lillian MacArthur in Ticonderoga, NY and their oldest daughter, Marion Faye Hutchinson McEwan and William McEwan were my parents. My fathers family - father, Alexander Morton McEwan and mother, Susan Bennett lived in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY. My Olmstead relatives are traced back to James and Nicholas Olmstead, also Richard Olmstead from England, nephew of James of Hartford, came on ship Lyon in 1632. Among other family names are Ellen Lillian MacArthur's father, Thomas MacArthur married to Ellen MacLaughlin who died after my grandmother was born. Tom later married Margaret (Maggie) Darling and they moved to Ohio. Maggie and her father (in Ohio) George Darling built some lovely furniture which I now own. They had one daughter, Ida Marion, who was albino and a very sweet maiden lady who taught me to tat. My mother and father and both brothers, John Alexander and William George McEwan have all passed away. I have two daughters - Donna Ruth Kellman married to William C.T. Baumann and Kathryn Ann Kellman married to Raymond "Skip" Diamond. Kathy and Skip have two children (my grandchildren), Justine Marie and Patrick John. My brother John and his wife, Elizabeth "Betti" Bennett had six children. The oldest son, Bennett, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Brother Bill and his wife Laura Meddaugh adopted two children, Nancy and Scott. I would not have all the information that I have here now if not for my cousin, Wayne Harvey, and my grandmother Hutchinson, both now in heaven, who loved to study our family genealogy.
