The Hembury and Saffin families were joined together by a marriage in the year 1927, in Somerset, England. In both cases, the roots of their two families are almost entirely of Somerset origin, from the Mendip Hills in the north, to Exmoor in the west, and the Crewkerne area in the south. In years past, representatives of the many family names that appear in my ancestry moved from England to new lives in New Lands overseas - Australia, Canada, the United States... It is for the descendents of these distant cousins that I am publishing these details, so that they may stay in touch with their Somerset past.
