Kemp's in Qld, David Kemp & Fanny Drower org. from Wales

Updated July 1, 2003

About Our Family Research

This is what I have found out so far...
David Kemp Snr m. Fanny Drower, in 1884, in the UK - Wales a strong possibility. They migrated to Australia in 1889 on the "Jumna", with their 2 children Eliza Jane Kemp born in Cardiff in April-June 1886 & Ebenezer Kemp, born in Cardiff in April-June 1888.

Their other children were born in Australia, including David John Kemp (who I'm directly descended from) who married Alice Grace Morris. Also, Frank George and Henry Drower Kemp. The last child was Walter Archibald.

The family landed in Moreton Bay, Queensland. They lived in Charters Towers.

Eliza Jane m. William Arthur Graham
Ebenezer m. Minnie Roos, of German Descent.
David John m. Alice Grace Morris as mentioned above. known as Gracie.
Francis "Frank" George was a drover and a bachelor.
Henry Drower was also a bachelor
Walter Archibald was also a bachelor

Descendents of David and Gracie are:
David Alfred Kemp m. Helen Wilkerman
Victor Henry Kemp m. Edna Sinclair (my Grandparents)
Sylvia Frances Kemp m. Edward "Ted" Stone
Walter Roy Kemp died in infancy

Need help finding information about David Kemp and Fanny Drower. Can't find any information on the name Drower. Apparently, from family talk, may have descended from Netherlands and earlier from Germany. But, would like to find out about the family in Wales before then.

Thanks, Andie
