Patrick Riley was born in 1826 in Mayo County Ireland. He came to the United States in 1850. Patrick married Anna Gibbons in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1852 and had twelve children born to this union. The known children at this time are Patrick Jr, John, Thomas, Bridget, Anna, and Margaret. The Riley's moved to Hanover in 1876. Anna died in 1900. Patrick died May 1913 and is buried in Elizabeth, Ill.
One of their sons, Thomas, was born in Kentucky in 1856. He married Wilda Anelda Wansey February 9, 1880 and had two children. Mary was born on December 30, 1881 and a son John Thomas was born April 19,1884. Wilda died Christmas Day 1884 and is buried in Hanover.Thomas died in Beloit, WI in 1918.
Mary Riley (Thomas, Patrick)married Hugh Hughes in 1903 and raised their family in Grant County, OK. They had three daughters: Agnes b 1905, Katherine b 1907, and Wilda b 1909.
John Thomas Riley (Thomas, Patrick)married Mary O'Neill in 1905 in Galena, Ill. They had 4 children: Helen Mary, John Owen, Jean Lenore, and Joseph Richard.
