| Searching for descendants of Hugh O'Neal an Irish immigrant who settled in Washington Co., VA about 1797. The O'Neals owned land near Damascus at the confluence of the South and Laurel forks of the Holston River. He died in Washington Co. between May 1832 and May 1833 and is believed to be buried on the site of the Zion Methodist Chuch. My line is descended from Hugh's son Charles who married Martha Lowry, Sept. 1819 and moved to Overton Co, TN about 1833. Among Hugh's other children are John and Patrick O'Neal.
