Roots for Kennetts of Kentucky Updated July 13, 2002
About Our Family Research
Over the past 10 years, I have traced my family roots to Charles W. Kinnett (now named Kennett) of Maryland who was born in 1760. He fought in the Revolutionary War.
Charles had nine children including a Son named John who married Rhoda St. Clair. John and Rhoda gave birth to James Kennett in 1814. James married Nancy Sinclair. James was born in Kentucky (which was Virginia Territory at the time). James and Nancy had 10 children including Charles William. Charles William Wilson Kennett took a young bride of 16 on November 19, 1876, when he married Martha Hanks. Their Son, Frank O., was my Grandfather and lived near me in Albers, Illinois. He was Father to John Franklin Kennett, my Dad.
And now, the search continues to learn more about the country of origin of Charles W. Kinnett who later in life became a wealthy Plantation owner in the humble State of Kentucky!
