My name is Gene Kennedy and I have been researching my family tree for some 25 years and have come across some fascinating ancestors. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to organize family reunions in Denver, however, I was too young to realize the importance of such gatherings. As I grew older, I started questioning who our relative were which led me to extensive research into family research.
When time permitted, I sent out Newsletters which I designed and put together to keep the immediately family members informed on the research. One of my relatives, and the one I have been researching a lot on was Gene Fowler, the famous reporter who once worked for The Denver Post and The Rocky Mountian News in Denver and went on to work for William Randolph Hearst in New York. He later moved to California and wrote several books. I had the unique opportunity to visit and interview Will Fowler, Gene's son in 1999. Through that chance meeting, I was able to gather additional information on the family tree and am still hoping it will "light a fire" for me as I am in the process of writing my own book on non-fiction.
As of this writing, I am slowly getting into the act of publishing the 'Kennedy Family Tree' booklet to distribute to family members and am gearing up for another "Newsletter" to spark interest in the subject again.
