James Larkin (Polk ?) Wilson (my great, great grandfather) brought his family to Sangamon Co, Il about 1841-42. My great grandfather Samuel Wilson, was born in 1838 near Louiville Ky. His family - father James, mother Nancy, sisters Martha, Lorella, Samuel and brother John came to Sangamon Co in a two wheel cart, walking because the cart was full of the family belongs.
Samuel Wilson married Nancy Caroline Waller in Springfield, Sangamon Co. Il in 1864. They had 10 children. The Wilson - Waller family celebrated their 100th family reunion this past August, 2006 .
My grandmother, Emma Frances Wilson, was born in 1881 and married Irvin Benjamin Kessler in 1899. They lived on farms in southern Sangamon Co. their entire lifes. Five children were born to this marriage, Arthur Louis Kessler, Chester Joshua Kessler, William Jesse Kessler (my father), Susanna Kessler and Frances Caroline Kessler.
I am having trouble finding family before James Wilson, who was born in 1805 in South Carolina.
Samuel's wife, Nancy Caroline Waller parents were: Father:James Traver Waller (parents David and Milly Slatten Waller) and Mother: Lucinda Cinthia Forilla Rutledge. I have not successfully taced any members before these dates.
