Hello!
I decided to create this family tree because there are a lot of people out there that think they are related to us and we wish to find those that are really our family!
My father's family originated in Moldova ... Teraspol. My grandfather (my father's father) is Ilya, his father Shmoil (Shlema). Shmoil's brother emigrated to Argentina a long time ago.
My father was born in Kiev, Ukraine. Our family came to the United States in 1990.
Naturally the spelling of our last name got lost in different languages and dialects. In Ukraine, our last name was spelled XINKIS. But since our family might be in a spanish-speaking country, the X will probably be a J. Here in the United States, our last name is KHINKIS.
