Kilpatrick's of Ft.Barnwell District in Craven Count y NC

Updated July 1, 2002

About Our Family Research

The earliest records of my ancesstors were founds in the 1860 censors of the Ft.Barnwell District in Craven County, NC. They listed the names of my great-great-great grand parents Silas and Jamimie Kilpatrick and all their children. Silas was brought to Craven County as a slave. We are not sure of the exact location of his birth .My father Robert C. Kilpatrick said as a child he was told his great grand father came from a plantation in Black Mountain,NC.
Most of the information we have came by word of mouth from relatives, neighbors and friends that lived in that area doing the time of their existance. Many of the decendants of my great-great-great father are still living on the land that he owen and farmed more than a hundred years ago.
