Hello my name is Ron Kills Warrior and I am from the Oglala Band of Lakota people, my Community or family is called, Payabya, which means "Campers along the Hillside." The family name is "Kills Warrior", this name belong to my great, great, grandfather, Henry Kills Warrior. Henry was the Christian name that was given to my great, great, grandfather, his Lakota name was Ozuye Kte. In my language it is known as Kills Warrior. Henry had three other brothers, their names were; Good Voice Flute, Blacksmith, and Young Man Afraid of His Horse. My great, great, great, grandfather and father to these four brothers his name was also Good Voice Flute, and his father was Heart, or Red Place. My great great great grandfather, Good Voice Flute, had a wife named Dinah Black Fox, who was the daughter of a medicine man named, Black Fox. On my mother side I had a great great great grandfather named, Chief John Grass whose Indian name was Mato Watahpe, (Charging the Bear!). He was the last of a nine generation dynasty of Naca or leaders. My family tree continue as time goes on. One day I will be able to show a well finished family tree and history for my entire family.
