William and Jane Brown both died in Wayne Co, IN ca 1822. Their children were John B., b. 1803; Milton, b. 1806; Mary (Polly, m. Jesse Wright), b. ca 1808; William, b. 1810; an unknown male, and Thomas, both born 1810-1820. The first three children were born in/near Harrison Co, KY.
We believe Mrs. Jane Brown's maiden name was Jane BOYD (Jennie BOYD). There's a marriage record in Harrison Co, KY for a William Brown and Jenny Boyd who married about nine months before John B. was born and an inheritance from a Thomas BOYD was left to Mrs. Jane Brown's estate.
Our ancestor, whom we think was the youngest son, went by Joshua BROWN. Someone in the family recalls a document where his name was written Joshua T. Brown, but we've yet to find a record listing him as Joshua Thomas Brown, the name we suspect he was given at birth.
