I am spending this summer compiling information on the various branches on my family tree. Some of these include: Kimberlin, Lane, Looney, Nickell, McCombe, Kummerlin, Thorn, Dodd, Barkman, Davis, Jackson, Rogers...and many more. My ancestors generally settled in or around Augusta County, VA and then branched out from there. Some went to Missouri. Some went to Alabama. But all of them ended up in Texas. The earliest group from Alabama settled along the Red River in 1826.
