We are just starting to research the Kipfer side of the family.
We only have back to a grandfather, Frederick William Kipfer born in the 1880s. We have been told we have Pennsylvania dutch roots, but don't know when the family came to America.
We know they lived in Ohio near Canton in the early 1900s. Arthur Edwin Kipfer born 1911, came to Texas via Visallia, California when he was 15 years old on an Indian motorcycle. He lived in Rio Hondo and Harlingen, Texas. Retired to Johnson City and then moved to La Feria, Texas shortly before his death in 1989.
Arthur Edwin Kipfer is one of 3 sons of Frederick William Kipfer (Francis (M) and Florence (F) are the other 2 children through the marriage to Mary Hardesty.
On the Hardesty side are Pricilla Kirkpatrick , wife of William Hardesty, Mary Melinda Karns, wife of Francis Marion Hardesty, and Louisa Knauff, wife of William Hardesty.
Other family names from our family include Leone Azuba Kilby, wife of Arthur Edwin Kipfer. Ruby Day Kilby Brown Hatch, mother of Leone Azuba Kilby from near Carollton, North Dakota.
