I am returning to my family history research after a break of about 6 years for various reasons. My current problem is finding my paternal grandmother Ellen Sharrocks, have recently received some information via the web and am following it up. I know she died in Manchester in 1951 but her place of birth eludes me at the moment, there is a possibility of a place near Bury, called Summerseat, but haven't been able to follow this up yet. Her father was William Sharrocks, he was a district delegate for the boiler makers union in Wolverhampton where he certainly spent about 30 years of his life and where he died and is buried. I have quite a lot of information about him, also some pictures copied from books on the boilermakers union. His wife was Mary Jane ?? and is also buried in Wolverhampton in the same grave, which was intended to take 3 bodies, but no record of a third being interred.
