About Our Family Research

Good Day to ALL.

This is an Up-date for Paternal and Maternal Branches, May 7, 2012.
{My Maternal Grandma (NOMA Louise AUSTIN TAYLOR) was born May 7, 97 years ago. Wish she was still with us!}

Grandma Noma's father was CHARLES AUSTIN from New York.

And on that note. Other Surnames on my Maternal branch are: Taylor<Austin<Irwin<Scott<Cowhick. Families that are linked to before mentioned surnames, George O. Butler Family of SE Washington state, and Elizabeth Williams, Hawks, and Sumpter people. Just naming a few. :)

Currently researching Chas. Austin who married Lucy Irwin in Spokane, Spokane County, WA, on Sept 1912. pacificforestflower left a post on Message boards on Rootsweb which has Marriage certificate attached. This marriage is a 3rd for Chas, he is 43, and from New York, and BOTH his Parents are listed from NEW YORK.

Father of Chas. Austin, on Marriage Certificate states a "S. H. AUSTIN", of NEW YORK.

On same Marriage Certif. Mother of CHAS. AUSTIN is "Jennie WRIGHT", from NEW YORK.

Lucy IRWIN was born in California the year 1874, and was 38 years old when she married Charles AUSTIN. This marriage was the 1st for Lucy. Her parents were Robert IRWIN, of Indiana, and Sarah Jane SCOTT IRWIN, who married in California, Feb of 1850. These three are buried in Tekoa, Washington (State).

I wonder if JENNIE WRIGHT is a wife of Charles'. ( I recall seeing somewhere, a Charles and Jennie Austin family from somewhere. AND by the time I realized the possible connection, it was long gone.) And that for whatever his reason was, he put her down as his mother on marriage certificate. I REALLY wonder if in this way he was leaving this for others, later in life, to trace his other family. So that his, Chas' family, here in the Pacific Northwest would be able to connect to his "Jennie Wright" family. ??? It was Chas' THIRD Marriage. Anything is POSSIBLE!

Also have found Sands H. Austin as a Hotel propotier? It is hard to read, in such a small box, on the census form. He is in Chicago. Is this the father of Chas. A. AUSTIN???

Other notes about Charles AUSTIN; Grandma Noma, his daughter told me, and alot of others in the family, that her father was a TIMBER CRUISER.

Bernice WALTERS, of Manchester, Washington is?was a Niece of Charles AUSTIN. So that implies that one of Bernice's parents was a SIBLING to Charles Austin. That would be new info to me, names of Charles AUSTIN's siblings. An Aunt of mine, and I are researching CHARLES AUSTIN. Any ONE in Bernice WALTERs' family out there please e-mail me at jfkcrsd at yahoo dot com.

Paternal Branch, Harry W. Davis, my grandfather. He worked for the MILWAUKEE ROAD Railway. He was born in 1890 in Saint Croix county, Wisconsin. He had two known siblings, Fred W. Davis who was born Feb 1887, and Ruth N. Davis BOWERS was born March 1883, same County in Wisconsin. Both men, and Ruth's husband, Hubert Bowers, worked for the Rail Road.

UP-DATE: Father of Harry W. Davis and siblings, John J. Davis of New Hampshire. Mother was Olive E. Hanchett, or better known as Eva E. HANCHETT. John and Eva / Olive were married in Wisconsin in March of 1882. Willard DAVIS was a witness to this marriage, and was an UNCLE to John J. DAVIS. Still seeking contacted from related branches, HANCHETT and DAVIS families.

Families; Dickens, Rathburn, Davis, from New York, RI Block Island through Wisconsin, No. Dakota, Montana, Spokane, WA., and Portland, Oregon; 1700's to the present (03-05-2007).

Seems most of these families traversed the Northern states, for the most part. From places like New York, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Washington {State}, and Oregon. As well as coming from places like Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, and Canada.

Any one may reach me at jfkcrsd at yahoo dot com. Posts left by pacificforestflower on rootsweb dot com may also be useful to related families.
