Much of the history of the Knowles family on this home page was taken from the research of Steven Loyd Knowles's "An Expanded History of the Knowles Family in England and America". I have scanned much of his work as document files for my own use, but am reluctant to include them here without his permission. If you would like a copy of his work he lives in Tyler Texas and a quick search on the net will probably get his phone number. It is a great read with copies of personal letters, maps, deeds, photos, wills, etc. I recommend it to any Knowles family researchers.
The information about the DeVille family came from the work of my Uncle Frank and Aunt Delores DeVille of San Antonio.
As I was entering the research on the Hopkins family, from a work by a decendant of that line, I encountered so many mistakes on births and dates that I decided to put this branch aside until I can verify the data contained in the information I have.
