I have been researching my families for thirty years, starting with my Cooley greatgrandfather, a Civil War Veteran. Although most of these families originated elsewhere, they settled in and around Oneida County NY, with subsequent generations moving westward. There are few of us left, and reunions haven't been held since most of us were children.
Most of my research has been through mail contacts, with some personal research at libraries and county offices.
