We are a family from a hawaiian fishing village called MILOLII.my family are seeking family members of Amoe Aki. maiden name. First marriage Antone Kukulu Watanabe.they had ten children.Amoe Kuahuia,Louis Kuahuia,Dora Kuahuia Halena,Raymond Kuahuia,Alice Kuahuia Gouveia,Elizabeth kuahuia,Steven kuahuia,Leilani Kahele Kuahuia,Rose Taylor Kuahuia,Arthur Kuahuia.Antone was a long-line fishermen.he spent most of his time on the ocean fishing trying to support his family.He would go out for long periods of time.Amoe stayed home caring for the ten children.
My grandfather Antone Kukulu Watanabe Kuahuia went out on a fishing trip one day and did not return.they came upon high seas and did not return to shore.They had a search out for the crew and no word.I heard stories only about him did not see him.Only good stories about a great fisherman he was.
My mom Amoe Aki Kuahuia ten had a rough life raising all ten children.Some of her children were being taking care of family members in the village.My mom still had her children in her sight and in contact.
Than later in life she met Lazaro Gurtisa Casuga.He were known as (Larry).Then they had four children.Larry Casuga,Shirley Casuga,Bernaldo (Ben) Casuga,Jack casuga.He helped my mom amoe raised all fourteen children.He was a fishermen and a farmer.he had bougt some property atop of Milolii .and planted coffee,mac-nut,avocados,bananas,taro,and all sorts of vegetables,he also raised pigs and chickens.he had a green thumb as i can remember anything that he put in the ground would grow.he was a great fisherman also he would go out during the night and return home the next morning with the catch.clean up load the truck up with his catch and drive to hilo and paddle the fish camp to camp he did it all straight to hilo load up the truck with groceries and ice.drive all the way back home unload and get ready for the next day.day after day.
than they adopted three more children from teir son Louis,Elizabeth,and lei.Still raising kids.Pearline,myself Mildred,and Keola.We were legally adopted.their were others that they also took care of.
Larry then left his family to be with our dear lord.My mom Amoe is still here on earth with her family what a strong dear mom she is in her bed can't walk from a stroke.But she knows whats going on around her.And Remembers averyone that walk through that bedroom door to visit her.Mama is blessed and so are we to have her here with us.We love her so dearly and envy the great work she contiues to do for our family.
