Hi! Welcome to My Family Tree--it is a work in progress. Right now I am trying to find the parent's of my ggg grandfather--George M. Kirk, b. 1807-1810, d. March 28, 1869 and is buried in the Mansker Cemetery in Rockwood, Il. George shows up on the 1850 Jackson Co., TN Census, with wife Rachel Wilson, and children Marian, John H., Margaret, Pheraby Jane, Stephen Smith (my gg grandfather) and George M. (twins), Dicy, Adaline, Rachel D. and Dennis Carrol. Any info on any of the children or their parent's would be appreciated. June 7, 2001 update: Thanks to two letters sent to me from someone in TN, I now believe I have found George's father. His name is Joshua Kirk. He appears on the Jackson County 1820 census. In 1830 he is in Crawford Co., IN and by 1840, he is in Pike County, Ill. I have no documents to back this up, but names and dates in the letter match up to my Kirk family. I am still looking for my gggg grandmother's name. Joshua was married three times--the first wife would be my gggg grandmother. Please contact me if you have any info! Thanks! :-)
