Asha-Lynn's Family in Rome
Updated January 20, 2001
| About Our Family Research |
|
"Asha-Lynn's Family in Rome" home page is about Asha-Lynn, her life in Rome, and about her parents and her parents' parents, and all kin, their stories including histories, activities, memory records etc. etc. that she would like, through her mum and dad, to give and account of.
Asha-Lynn is 16 month old girl and 80 cm tall. She was born on September 22, 1999 at the Salvatori Mundi International Hospital in Rome, Italy at 1.57 a.m. weighing 3.25 kg. By birth, Asha-Lynn is a "Romana" but her parents nationality makes this claim a bit doubtful.
Asha-Lynns father and mother come from Bipi Island, located in the west coast of Manus Island of the Admiralty Group of Islands in the Bismark Sea in Papua New Guinea.
This page should be able to give you more information about Asha-Lynn and her family than what can be written here. Enjoy!

My cousin Nicky Hua came to visit me in Rome during the 2000 Christmas holidays. Nicky is pictured here behind the statue of Garibaldi on horse back at Piazza Garibaldi. It was Nicky's first ever visit abroad. I think Nicky really enjoyed his visit to Rome.

- My Bipi Island (1 KB)
I would like you to also know about our puso (island). Bipi, is a low lying coral island, located on the west coast of Manus (Admiralty Islands), Papua New Guinea. Hopefully, your discovery of our island will introduce you to the nature of the persons that are us, but this is not important compared to the goal, which is also to make you a friend of Bipi Island, our home. Our intention is to develope a partnership with you (if you so wish) through this page, in cultural exchange as well as promote cooperative effort in the development of Bipi Island and its peoples.
How do you get to know Bipi Island?
We are not sure whether we know how to do this yet. However our journey of discovery of Bipi Island, through relevant information that we will share here daily, weekly or monthly (depending on what we find and the time we find it) might help. Creating this page is only a start so if you stay with us as time goes by, you might get to know the island we call our home. We provide you with some basic information (below) for starters so read on and enjoy. We look forward to your next visit and your partnership in the future!
The "basics" on Bipi Island?
Bipi is a small coral island located off the west end of the island of Manus in the Admiralty Group of islands in the North of Papua New Guinea. There are three villages on Bipi namely Kum, Matahai and Masoh. The people of Bipi are ethnic melanesians and speak the Bipi language (or dialect?).
How to get there?
From Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, you take a 45 minutes jet trip (service provided by Air Niugini) to Momote Airport on Manus Island. Then there is a 15 kilometre road trip to Lorengau, the capital town of Manus Province followed by a 4 hour scenic sea trip by outboard powered dinghy along the north west coast of Manus Island to Bipi. Be prepared to get wet on the boat trip but this depends on local weather conditions.
