I have researched the Galicia area, particularly Leki Parish, between Tarnow and Pilsno, Tarnow, Poland, Michaigan and landed in Nebraska. Most all information is documented. I also host the Kush mailing list- WHICH all should join. Records dating to the mid 1700's, with family lore, provide for a colorful family tree and more! Stephanus, Casiminus, Jacob and Tomas Kus are the first noted in Leki Parish records. I have traced these family heads through out their growth in Poland and some to America. Many of my direct line immgrated to Nebraska via Michaigan, and expecially Detroit and Buffalo. The parish in Nebraska celebrated their 100 year reunion in 1999 and the community was presented with a centennial book, with various families of the Platte-Nance County, Nebraska area known as Krakow, St. Peter and Paul's Parish, Genoa, Nebraska. Stephanus lived to be 102, died in Leki, Poland and is buried there. Stephanus married a Margaretha Baro prior to 1772. There children are: Casiminus b abt 1772; Apolonia b. abt. 1773; Franciscus b 1778; Sophia b. 1780; Stanislaus b. 1781; Michael b 1783; Ludwik b. 1784; Tomas b. 1785; Joseph b. 1786; Margaretha b. 1787 and Florianus b 1788. Michael b 1783 is my direct line. He married Apolonia Dudek and they had a son Michael b 1814 who married Sophia Augustyn. Michael and Sophia's children are the generation to immgrate to America. Surnames: Augustyn, Brundy, Barnas, Baro, Czarnick, Czuba,Dudek, Farcak, Fla Kus, Galus, Hebda, Jurek, Kosiba, Koziel, Krupa, Kula, Kus, Kuta, Lasek, Matya, Micek,Modelski, Nowak, Nalepa, Paprocki, Podraza, Pieczonkowna, OrKisz, Polaszek, Prorok, Pyrchla, Ryba, Skorupa, Sokot, Storcz, Tarczon, Tomasziewicz, Tragarz, Tworek, Uryias, Wojiechowski, Zaiga and Zima.
