About Our Family Research

I guess I have been working on this for some years now. With the help of one of my brothers we have been searching our family history. I started out by talking and taping my mother, uncle, aunt, and another aunt. All who have passed on except one. We have had numerous reunions, talked about things we did as children, what my mother did as a child and how she lived. I am writing a book about her life. She was one in the family of fourteen children. Her father was a coal miner, then went on to be a farmer with being a blacksmith too. Which I find very interesting. We have traveled to different locations where they lived, worked and had families. Love to read books, articles, magazines about the times in the area of Little House on the Prairie days. I would have liked to live in those times. When I was an aide at school where I helped out, I went and gave a talk to 4th grade kids about finding out about their relatives. It was very great for me and I hope I have led another child in that direction. One of my inspiring persons who I admired was Michael Landon.
