This research is being undertaken by Kenneth Kwilas. It was started in 2002. It encompasses the names Kwilas, Kwilasz, Kwilos and Kwilosz. The "a" and "o" have been misinterpreted in documents and the "z" has been dropped from the last names in some cases. There are not many people by these last names in the U.S. and the pattern seems true in Poland also. The adventure is to sort them out.
I have recorded 103 living relatives in the U.S. on my father's side. There are also relatives in Poland which I know nothing about and all contact has been lost since WWII. In searching the web I found the mention of Kwilas on a couple of Polish sites. I have contacted one of them. They had a great Uncle who went to Detroit. However, so far, I cannot find a trace of him. Ah, the adventure continues...
