Christian Poorman fought in the American Revoultion. His son, Christian Longstreth Poorman fought in the Civil War and was a war hero. His picture and information about him is in the HISTORY OF THE OHIO VALLEY. His son George Poorman was injured in the Civil War . He didn't have a job and drank himself to death very young leaving his widow (Rate)and 3 children( Christian, Edna and one other daughter) with nothing to live on. His son, Christian L. Poorman, was my grandfather and the father of Robert Fenton Poorman my dad who was the only child. My dad fathered 4 children. Barbara Ann , Roberta Jean , Marilyn Louise, and Robert Chris Poorman.Robert Chris Poorman has no children so ends this line.
Edna's son lives in Ohio, and tells the story that his mother was raised by a neighbor.
Ellen Wheeler (Anderson) Schaeffer was Christian L. Poorman's wife, Robert Fenton Poorman's mother. She died in an accident in Colorado when their car went over a mountain cliff. Chris, of General Motors, then married Mary Lou who is buried in Germantown, Ohio.
