I'm trying to trace my lineage on my maternal grandmother's side of the family. Her maiden name was Parmelie Gervais, nicknamed " Billie".She was born in "Trois Rivieres" Canada, in 1881.She and her family came to the United States in 1887,and unfortunately, there were no borders till 1895, so, there is no record of entry for them. She came from a large family and her father may have married twice.I remember visiting the great aunts and uncles in Linwood and Uxbridge Ma. I do have cousins living in Pittsfield Ma., on my maternal granfather's side. I have a cousin living in Montreal by the name of Jean-Paul Gervais. His father was my grandmother's brother. He is the only one that I know of that resided in Canada.I knew him as uncle Joe.I know that there are a few cousins in Canada. My grandfather Palardy died at 56, of a massive heart attack. He was working for Berkshire-Hathaway cotton Mills in Albion, R.I.at the time. That is where both my grandparents Palardy are buried. It's very hard geting any information on my grandmother, as all her relatives, siblings, are gone. I do know that there was indian blood on both sides of my maternal grandparents side as well as on my paternal grandparents side. This is what I need to establish. Any information would greatly be appreciated. Sincerely, Chuck Lacombe
