I have access to Lacy family history, as my family is directly
descended from the Normandy family. My younger brother Patrice is now the baronet, as my brother Hugh died last year. My grandfather was Sir Pierce Lacy of Ampton, and my father was Sir
Maurice Lacy. My great grandfather was John Lacy who came to
Birmingham from Ireland. His ancestors went to Ireland in 1170
(Hugo de Lacy who was descended from the Lincoln/Pontefract de Lacys) - my great grandfather dropped the "de" because of
anti-Irish feeling at that time.
