Hello from north Mississippi. As a small boy living in Ocean Springs, MS., I remember my father making the statement he was not sure that my grandma's name on her headstone was right. Through the years I had no knowledge as to who I was or where my family came from. Then I read in the paper where Long Beach, MS erected a monument honoring the founding Ladners. After reading that, I was hooked. I had to find out about me. Since then I have gathered a lot of information and still searching for more.
My line goes from Christian, Jean Baptiste, Jean BaptisteII, Carlos, CarlosII, Lemuel, Carlos, RB and then me. My father died in 1970 and is buried in Steep Hollow, MS cemetery next to my grandparents. After all these years visiting their graves I find I am only a few miles away from the graves of grandpas Carlos, CarlosII and Lemuel. I also now have info on my grandma's Victoria Young's family. I still don't have all the info I want, so if anybody can help me, I'll thank in you advance for it.
