The Thomas's of Blamire Farm and Relatives

Updated October 21, 2004

About Our Family Research

Since the Summer of 2002 I have started to research the families of my parents. My mothers family (Thomas) have lived at Blamire Farm, Everingham, East Yorks, for several hundred years. A direct descendant continues to live there to this day. To date I have gone back to my great-great-great-grandfather, almost two hundred years.
Knowing a link with a place and that ancestors have lived there for hundreds of years provides great enthusiasm for wanting to know more about how people lived and worked years ago. Future generations will not be able to so easily trace their ancestors in this age of travel and general lifestyle.
The Thomas family have been associated with Everingham, East Yorks, since at least back to the 1700's and probably much further. Should I be blessed with a long healthy retirement, then family history research will take up much time.
