Lasut is a native Indonesian family name. Originating from the northern part of Indonesia, an area what is called Minahasa, on the tip of the island Sulawesi/Celebes. Ruru Ares Lolong Lasut was the fonder of the settlement now known as the Menado City, Capital City of Minahasa (North Sulawesi Province), one of the 27 provinces of Indonesia. Ruru Ares Lolong Lasut was an explorer and a great worrier for his time. He actually comes from the mountain side of North Sulawesi. Ruru Ares was his name when he left his home in the Kinilow district. Lolong Lasut was his name when he became chief tribe man. Ruru Ares alias Lolong Lasut lived around 1450-1520. The Portuguese mentioned his name in their ship log books when they first landed in Menado for water and trading. Please have you say about my research. Also can somebody tell me why most of the Lasut in Holland or originating from Holland will not response to my research? Regards and love from your brother, Frans J Lasut
