About Our Family Research

I am just starting out on a quest to find my family history. Although I now live in Wales, I am originally from Seaham Co. Durham. All known relatives from the Lashley side lived in the immediate area. I can only trace as far as my grandfather, John William Lashley who was born in 1909, was a seaman and lived in Dawdon Crescent, Seaham. His father may also have been a John as my aunt remembers hearing her grandfather referred to as Jack, she only ever called him granddad!
There has always been mention of my grandfather being a cousin of William LASHLY of the Antarctic, any more info greatly appreciated.
If anyone knows any more, please contact me.
Thanx
Steve Lashley
