The Charles Francis Launey/Launay Family of Nova Scotia

Updated September 23, 2001

About Our Family Research

Wilbert James Launey was made a ward of the Children's Aid Society and placed in the Little Flower Orphanage in Little Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia along with his older sister and younger brother on June 20, 1941. The file from the orphanage indicates that the birth mother of the children was Annie Violet Launey also known as Ninnie. She became a patient at the Cape Breton Hospital. The file indicated that her mother, Mrs. Albert LeBlanc, Havre Boucher cared for the three children who were born to Ninnie until Mrs LeBlanc was too old and feeble. The file also states that the children's last known address was Whitney Pier. We are asking that anyone with any information about our family to please contribute to our family tree by e-mailing dlaunay@home.com. Kind regards, The Launey's.
