My Great Grandfather was Issac Torkelsen Lauen and Great Grandmother was Gurine Tobiasdatter Lauen nee Hundeland, both from Norway. Issac was born January 21, 1865 at Lille Eigeland and Gurine was born Februaury 4, 1881 at Hundeland. Issac and Gurine were married in Norway on July 1, 1898. They left Norway and went to the United States. They settled in Clark County, Thorp Township near Stanley, Wisconsin and took up farming. They had their first five children while in Wisconsin. Lena b:Aug 1899 d:27 May 1919. William b:1901 d:10 Nov 1921. Albert(My grandpa) b:10 July 1903 d:4 July 1976. Oscar b:1905 d:5 Dec 1935. Clarence b:12 August 1907 d:12 Aug 1989. They then moved to Weldon, Saskatchewan, Canada in July 1909, where they continued to farm. They then had 4 daughters, Gertie B:16 Dec 1909 D:6 April 1987. Mildred B:29 Feb 1912 D:1 April 2002. Agnes B:5 July 1914 D:26 June 1996. Anna B:12 Aug 1916 D: Issac died on March 20,1917 and Gurine died on Jan 4,1965. They are both buried in the Weldon Lutheran Cemetary.
My Dad "Everett Albert Lauen" was born on January 3, 1947 and passed away on June 22, 1998. His grandmother Gurine raised him.
