William Dixon Sr. was b:oct.12,1758 in Ireland and came as a teenager to Pittsylvania County, Virginia, where he enlisted for service in the Revolutionary War and served 7 years.In 1789 he came to Mason County,Kentucky.In 1793 crossed the Ohio river and built a log cabin near Logan's Gap in what is Brown County,Ohio.About the time he left Virginia,he married Grizzy A. Bell,B:abt,1771.Grizzy D:Jan.3,1825.William D:Jan,10,1838.They are buried at RED OAK CEMETARY,Union Township,Brown County,Ohio.William's log cabin now sit's on the fairgrounds at GerogeTown ,Ohio.They had 11 Children as follows: John Dixon,William Dixon Jr.,Amos Dixon,Nancy Dixon (Hawk)B:Nov.14,1798.Josiah Dixon,Thomas Dixon,Hannah Dixon (Robbins),Elizabeth Dixon (mann),James Dixon,Harrison Dixon,Samuel Dixon B:Dec.18,1818.
On June 4,1840 Samuel married Letty Ann Reynolds,B: Aug.10,1820.she died in 1896;Sam D:1906.They had 9 Children as Follows: William E. Dixon,Martin L.Dixon,Margaret Jane Dixon (Wallace)&(Reisinger),Samuel King Dixon,Columbus Dixon,Fidelia Dixon (Edenfield)&(Rhoten),a infant daughter,Alice Dixon (Bayless),Joseph Byron Dixon....They reared also possibly adopted:Janie Dixon (Beckley)....
