The Lawry/McGrath family of Victoria Australia

About Our Family Research


After checking microfische records at the Ballarat Library it was found that the Lawry family originated in St Just Cornwall England. They arrived in Geelong Victoria, Australia in the early 1840's, settling in both Geelong and also the Cape Otway area at Glenaire.

The McGrath family originated in county Cork, Ireland arriving in Melbourne during the 1850's, before heading to Queensland and settling in the Laidley area.
