The Allred, Nix Clan - New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, SC,NC,

Updated April 28, 2001

About Our Family Research

The Allred and Nix Clans joined in marriage David Hackley Allred (Willis Winfield- Louis Porter-William Hackley-James-William-Thomas) married Ruby Nix (Mark Thomas, Mark Thomas, Soloman).
Now the children of my line of that union include surnames of: Brophy, Smith, Dutton, Murphy, Campbell, and I married into a Lawson with McDonald, Beasley, Mendenhall, Sutton, Kitchen, Taffee, Crossland...it seems to grow every time I turn on the computer.

The Allred Roster has done the most fantastic job of compiling that family history. But I am having the hardest time with the Smiths (married Dutton, New York City) and the Brophys (Brooklyn - although Thomas Patrick Brophy was my dad's uncle and he was chief fire marshall for New York for almost 40 years. I know Patrick, a Brooklyn cop, his father had a brother Thomas, also a New York cop and a brother Matthew who was a cop in Australia and killed investigating a case there. I am just starting to search for those.

It is a wonderful collection of rich and vibrant spirits who have clearly shaped who and what we are today. It is thrilling to get to learn a little more about them.

Look forward to hearing from anyone with family connections.

Sherry Smith
