The Lawson's of Carpenter, Mississippi

Updated December 28, 2008

About Our Family Research

On my family page, I would like for all my family members to be able to locate their family history if so desired. Our family history goes back to a slave-master named William Joel Green Of North Carolina. Green was born around 1777 and died around 1854 in Dentville, Mississippi. Our earliest family member was named Mincer Lawson who was born around 1835 in Mississippi. It is possible that his parents came to Mississippi with William Green during his move here but that cannot be confirmed. The oldest picture of the Lawson Family was Mincer's son named Lee Lawson, who was born around Sept 1866 in Mississippi. Lee worked for William Green's grandson named William Joel Green also of Copiah County, Mississippi, who owned a community store called Green Store, which also was a voting district(District #4) In Copiah County.
