I am trying to trace my Italian lineage. My father Enzo (Terenzio) came over from Italy in 1951. His brother Carlo followed shortly after. My grandparents Rino and Chisera (Samarani) then came to Nottingham with their 2 other sons Lino and Mano. Our village in Italy is named Rebecco D'Oglio and is between Brecia and Cremona. I do not have any contact with Italy as my father imigrated to South Africa in the 60's and lost touch with his relatives. Terenzio passed away in September 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.I dearly would love to find out more about my family and perhaps give life to many of my fathers stories about life in Robecco during the 40's under Nazi occupation. I am especially intrigued to learn more about my nono Rino and what he got up to, his mother the famous opera singer Theresa and life at the Negresco in Nice.
I understand that we have links with the Argenta family in France and have relatives in the Paris and Caen regions.
Any help would be fantastic.
