Learmonth, of Central Scotland/Fife/Lothians Updated February 7, 2003
About Our Family Research
This home page covers Learmonth surname from Central Scotland early 1600 to present.
The main areas/locations are Airth, Stirling, Alloa, Falkirk, Grangemouth, Linlithgow, Bo'ness, Bannockburn, Cults-Fife, Glasgow, Manchester, Canada & USA.
This tree begins from early 1600 with family of Rae in Airth to the start of Learmonth line Abt 1762. Prior to this date is open to the reader as I have extensive lines running to 1200. The main stumbling block is selecting who was the line at two main junctures, Linlithgow 1600 and Fife 1500/1600.
The main issue is that this Learmonth line is from the main line from Linlithgow/Bo'ness area within Stirlingshire and West Lothian. I beleave the family came through from Fife via Edinburgh and the Royal House of James V at Linlithgow Palace and the family of Learmonth of Dairsie and one Patrick born in Dunfermline.
