I am searching for information on James Storey b. 1809 in Roxburghshire, Scotland. He had one brother that I know of who came with him to Canada about 1830 and they settled first in Dalhousie twp., Lanark county, then moved on to St. Vincent, Ontario (Meaford)about 1838. James first married Margaret Robertson in 1835, in Lanark county, she died leaving no children and he then married Esther Free about 1839. His brother was Walter Storey b. May 15, 1804. I can find NO sign of them in Roxburghshire. Hope someone can help.
Also the names DOUGLAS & ROBERTSON from Roxburghshire, and FREE, ANNING, UFLAND & BISSETT connect with STOREY in Ontario & Manitoba, Canada.
I am also researching Henry Thornhill b. about 1730 from Etwall, Derbyshire, England and later from Mickleover, Derbyshire. His first wife was Mary Dea, his second wife Ann Edwards.
The following names are connected to Henry Thornhill: RADFORD, HAYNES, DAKIN, BLAZEY, DOWMAN, HARLOWE, DEA, EDWARDS and STORER, all in England.
I am also researching Nicolas Leblanc b. early 1600 in France, married to Perrette Chenart. Nicolas and his decendants lived in the following Quebec areas: Cap-de-Madeleine, Becancour, St. Paul-Chesterville and finally Notre-Dame de Lourdes de Ham which is in the Victoriaville/Arthabaska area of Quebec.
Names connected with LEBLANC are: LEBLANC-LABRIE, CHENART, DUTAULT, BOURBEAU, BOURBEAU-BEAUCHENE, BOURBEAU-VERVILLE, BOURBEAU-LACOURSE, PROVENCHER, DESRUISSEAU, ROBERGE, PAQUETTE, SEVIGNY, LAVERTUE, DUPERRON-LAVERTU.
Also connected with the LEBLANC family is the FORTIER family. Noel FORTIER was born about 1593 from Dieppe, Rouen, Normandie, France. He was married to Marthe GOLLE. Their son Antoine FORTIER was born June 26, 1677 in St. Jacques de Dieppe, France. He married Madelaine CADIEU on November 21, 1677 in Beauport, Quebec. These names appear in this family tree: FORTIER, GOLLE, CADIEU, ROUX, LEROUX, GUILLEMETTE, CARBONNEAU, POISSON, BOURGOUIN, MARTIN, GARON, PARE, ROY, BOLUC, BOULANGER, PLANTE, LECLERC, MACARD,CLOUTIER, DELAGE, and RUEL.
I have also completed a family tree for ROUX also known as LEROUX and ROUX-SANSCHAGRIN. And a tree for LAVERTU also known as DUPERRON-dit-LAVERTU.
I am always happy to trade information with anyone who is interested.
