The Raoul A. Leblanc of Seattle, Wa

About Our Family Research

My family is composed of three ethnic groups, Canadian
French, Dutch and Canadian Indian, Huron and Algonquin
from the bilinqual area on both sides of the Ottowa river
south of the city of Ottowa,Ont. Canada. I have checked with relatives on both sides of the family which as yet has expressed little interest except for a member I found by submitting an add in an Ottowa newpaper. I was seeking information pertaining to Canadian Indians that might be
related and perhaps a great grandfather who changed his name from Moise Ildebrand to Leblanc (the story is that he was prematurely with white hair at a young age and was
nickednamed "Ti-Blanc" from which he adopted the Leblanc
name.) His father's name was Beloni Hildebrand. A version
or the Ti-blanc story was mentioned by my family when I was child.
