I have been searching infrequently BUT extensively for years for facts and linage on my father's family...Mostly to pass on to my own two son's. The little that I know is that my father James Wilber LeCompte was born August 23, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to James (Middle name unknown) LeCompte and Alice (Lowman/Loman) LeCompte. He had one brother, Stephen LeCompte and two sisters (the oldest-Mary Jane LeCompte (married Eugene last name unknown)and Lucille LeCompte (married Johnny Silvers from Baltimore)). He changes the subject with me whenever I ask him about his family. The little that I know is that my grandmother supposidly died in a pedistrian-automobile accident near Baltimore Maryland when he was around 10 years old which would be sometime in 1939. My mother (deceased) told me that her family had her buried under her maiden name (Alice Mae (May) Lowman/Loman) because of a family dispute. I do not know what happened to my grandfather.
