Ian and Margaret Lee live in Marlow Lagoon, Northern Territory, Australia, which is 30 km south of Darwin. During all of 1998, Margaret did a teaching exchange in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Ian collected information from the IGI records at the local Family History Centre in Belfast.
In the summer break of 1998, we travelled extensively through Herefordshire, Shropshire, Norfolk, and Durham counties. Research at the local Public Records Office revealed significant family information. Ian found a memorial note for Thomas Thornville Cooper on the Gravesite of Douglas and Sarah Cooper buried at the Cenetry in Trimingham, Norfolk, England
Margaret's father, Stanley Milton Barclay was born on 30 May 1899 in Kingston, SA, Australia while her mother is Harriet Vera Bremmell was born 10 November 1916 at Parramatta NSW.
Her paternal grandparents were George Heulen (Heulin) Barclay born June 7 1867 in Kooloomurt Vic, Australia and Lucy Jane James born abt. the same time. Margaret's paternal greatgrandparents both emigrated to Australia when children. John Barclay was born abt 1836 in Glascow Scotland whilst Ann Adelaide Carey was born abt 1836 in St Helier on the Island of Jersey.
Her maternal grandparents were Sidney Pearson (McPherson) Bremmell, chr. 17 September 1874, Hopton Castle, Herefordshire, England and Ruby Elizabeth Fenton born 6 May 1890 at possibly Blackpool England. They were married at All Saints Church in Wellington on 2 June 1908.
Ian's father is George Christopher Lee born 19 July 1901 at Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia while mother Madge Sarah Ada Fisher born 26 February 1900 in Maryborough, Victoria, Australia. They married on 9 October 1929 in Mildura, Victoria.
His paternal grandparents were Charles Thomas Lee born abt.1852 in Isfield, W Sussex, England and Lydia Watson Cooper born 24 November 1866 in Castlemaine, Victoria. They were married in Castlemaine, Victoria on 15 May 1889, he was a widower.
His maternal grandparents were Charles Fisher born 18 July 1861 at Timor (near Maryborough), Victoria and Alice Maude Mary Dilworth born 2 September 1855 in Talbot, Victoria. They were married abt. 1985 possibly in Maryborough, Victoria.
